Its year-on-year increase is at 326.6% from $131.3 million of March 2020. Perfect proof that the market has grown a lot in spite of a pandemic.

This is, however, a bit far from the state’s record. The highest handle recorded by the state is $615.3 million in January 2021. Meanwhile, revenue for March 2021 is at $403.1 million. This, is a new record. This is the first month the state has a revenue that is higher than $400 million in a single month. Many pay per head bookies are also seeing higher revenues this year. Much of the credit of the increase in sports betting activities this march is due to March Madness. The biggest collegiate basketball championship manages to capture a large betting market. Especially this year, since last year’s March Madness was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
And for those who use software for bookies, there is growth in online sports betting as well. The mobile handle for March is at $514.336 million. This is 9.5% higher than February’s $469.709 million. Online casino gaming also saw an increase of 31.3% from February’s $50.6 million to March’s $66.4 million.
