Tippett may have been a restricted free agent following the season, but he is now in the last year of a two-year, $3 million ($1.5 million AAV) deal he signed with the Flyers on July 29, 2022. Currently tied for third place on the Flyers with 30 points, the 24-year-old forward has scored 18 goals in 46 games this season, second only to Travis Konecny (22 goals).
A lower-body injury kept Tippett out of action for three games starting January 20. On Tuesday, the player was put on injured reserve. He has eight points with six goals and two assists in his last seven games.
Tippett Re-Signed with the Flyers
With the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, the Florida Panthers acquired forward Claude Giroux from the Philadelphia Flyers on March 19, 2022, in exchange for forward Zachary Tippett, a first-round selection in either the 2024 or 2025 NHL Draft and a third-round selection in the 2023 NHL Draft. Along with a fifth-round choice for the 2024 draft, the Panthers acquired forward prospects Connor Bunnaman and German Rubtsov. Last year, in 77 games played with the Flyers, Tippett recorded 49 points, a career-best, along with 27 goals and 22 assists.

In 2021, he made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Florida and finished with four points (one goal and three assists) in six games.
The Flyers will play the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Despite losing four games in a row, they are now in third place in the Metropolitan Division.
