MSU Football earned its first win after it defeated Nebraska 20-17. It was the last home game for Michigan State for the season. Also, the team broke its six-game losing skid to the delight of the home crowd. In addition, it is interim coach Harlon Barnett’s first win.
Overall, it was a close game, but MSU stayed strong. Before, when the Spartans played Iowa, Rutgers, and even Minnesota, they were close to winning games and competitive until halftime, but they could not finish them off and lost late. The opposite was true for most of Saturday’s game.

The defense picked up another interception thanks to Majeed’s tireless efforts.
Maverick Hansen, a redshirt senior defensive lineman, was critical in the Spartans’ success against Nebraska because of the pressure he applied throughout the defensive line. In the game against the Cornhuskers, Hansen recorded 1.5 sacks and 3 tackles.
